Likewise, JSI obtained DOE Service Contracts to develop solar and wind projects in the said areas. These areas are located within the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.
JSI has been given the exclusive rights to explore, develop and utilize solar and wind resource within the over 800 hectares of contracted area. The National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) recognized the right to the land of the Tribung Ayta Ambala ng Pastolan (TAAP) and thereby granted TAAP a Certificate of Ancestral Domain Title (CADT). JSI upheld the CADT by undergoing the Free and Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) consultation process during the preparatory stage of the project. Close coordinations among the involved parties resulted in the Certificate of Pre-Condition wherein the TAAP granted JSI the permission to use their ancestral land.
